Compound words: turn off auto-space temporarily

In many Germanic languages (German, Swedish, Norwegian...) compound nouns are written without a space inbetween. It would be great if you could turn off auto-space temporarily to easily write two words together.

Apparently you can do this on Android by swyping from space to backspace?

Alternatively, I'd suggest an extra button in the top bar, maybe two arrows pointing at each other?

    strmberg,

Swype from the space to the backspace suppresses the next space. So you would need to Swype the word, then swype from the space to backspace, swype the next word, then swype from the space to backspace if you want to enter more words.

    Hope that helps

Nope, doesn't work on my iPad. I only get the "please try again" message.
