Thread: Light / white theme show the alternate keys

    Excellent. Thank you very much!

Bump. It's been a while without response

I imagine it'll be a very long while yet, if ever. I don't think anyone at Swype has looked at these forums in the last year or so.

...and we're over a year into this being a "top request," with no forward progress.

I'd love to hear a technical explanation of why this would take more than an hour of development time to implement.

One more bump for this excellent request. Seems like a great marketing opportunity for Swype, a great way to differentiate it as a product given that this extremely useful feature is missing on literally every other keyboard on iOS. Also, I know different people have different preferences, so why not offer both? Personally I'd immediately purchase a version of the Colorful theme pack with alt-keys showing.

Nuance is a voice recognition company. Keyboards are uninteresting to them.

Thumbs down Two years and still no change to the light/white theme

Well if this is how they handle their top requests for Swype on iOS and they haven't said anything else for two years it sure says something about how they value paying customers.

Hmm, like so many messages, "we're investigating" dates back 2 years, with no progress. Anyone actually home here?

Any explanation why you decided not to make this very useful change that you were investigating two years ago?

I can't imagine why you couldn't at least offer it as an additional optional theme ("Light with alternate characters'). It seems like very little work, since you already have artwork for the keys (just invert the Dark keyboard keys).

It's really frustrating to have to poke around when you need, say, the occasional semicolon, and makes it much faster when you just need to type a single digit, for instance.
