Auto capitalisation and spaces after full stop.

Would be nice if proper nouns could be capitalised automatically, and a full stop automatically produce a capital and space for the next work like HTC sense.

I'm always having to go back and add spaces and capitals to things like January or Jesus.


e.g. without modification I'm getting "In january I learnt about jesus.I joined a new church with jill."

Was this something removed in the new version? I thought after pressing period before and typing a new word it would result in a space being added and the word being capitalized. E.g.:

Today is christmas. Can't wait for my gifts.

As oppose to now it goes:

Today is christmas.can't wait for my gifts.

Rugged toast, Swype above keyboard to get initial capital letter. Swype period to space bar to get it.
