Thread: Add Emoji support

  1. #1

    Add Emoji support

please create an emoji "language" to download. this would greatly help and solve a major issue. this way switching to emoji characters would be relatively easy.

or just include them in swype so they don't have to be downloaded...

I've moved this to Feature Requests so that it is more visible!

    Thanks for voicing your opinion!

We know this is a hugely popular feature request and we're actively investigating emoji integration for the Swype keyboard. Please add your thoughts and share your opinion on the feature here!

Wholly agree, I know it would be a huge undertaking, but emoji are coming!
Google's approach also includes showing an emoji as a word possibility. That is, if you type snowflake, you get the snowflake emoji as a possible "spelling"

I completely agree with this. Now that Emoji are supported in Jelly Bean, it only makes sense that an additional keyboard screen in Swype should be added.

Yes please! I'm running JB now & the stock HTC One X keyboard has the icon to add emoji, but I can't not use Swype. I vote for "z" long press to bring up current smiles + JB emoji.

    emoji works with Swype

I'm running AOKP based on JB 4.2.1. I have Swype fully working with emoji.
to do this, all I did was enable emoji in the default android keyboard. when
I the Swype keyboard comes up I have an emoji icon on the left.

I don't even understand your post at all. This makes 0 sense.

Also I would greatly desire the emoji function on my N7 and GNex! Switching between keyboards is a pain!
