    Hi Aletha,

What version of Swype are you using? You can check this in Settings > Preferences > About or Settings > Help.

It's possible that you might have a version of Swype that included a dictionary bug that has since been fixed, delivered to OEMs and recommended as an update candidate.

If you are using Swype 1.3.6 you can see the original thread on the issue here: http://forum.swype.com/showthread.ph...the-dictionary

    Thanks

    Hi lowwwriders,

How are you trying to add words to the dictionary? Have you tried following these steps:

    1. Tap your desired word out
    2. Press the Swype key 2x to highlight your word
    3. Select "Add 'word' to dictionary" prompt

Your custom word should now be in your dictionary!

If these steps aren't working for you, what languages are you using?

    Thanks

Is it possible for Swype to support custom text expansions (type a certain string and have an option to replace it with another, e.g. type "shrugtext" and get a word suggestion of "\_(ツ)_/"), and possibly even sync with device dictionaries?
