Bump. This is being ignored by the Swype development team. Swype is not in bed with the mobile carriers and has no business imposing this restriction with no override.

Bump. This is being ignored by the Swype development team. Swype is not in bed with the mobile carriers and has no business imposing this restriction with no override.
This is a bug that needs to be fixed. You cannot require the user to download over Wifi when you don't know the circumstances of my device, Wifi, and mobile network. In my case, I have unlimited...
I am having the non-auto-spacing problem too.
Hercules T989
AOKP 4.1.2 20121124
Swype 1.3.1.9410.
Also occurs with an older build (3.26.92) so I think it is a change in the browser, not a change...
I miss the old Swype, where the first symbol page showed the second symbol page as shift-keys and long-press selected them. In the current Swype it's necessary to change pages TWICE to find the...
Rob! How are those resources coming along to fix this problem?
Just re-confirmed that 6 months later Firefox is still unusable with the Swype keyboard (as of 10.0.5 and 3.26.92). Your competitor's...
In that case the modern youth may add the words to the dictionary. It's unacceptable having non-words in the dictionary, AND having them non-removable. This is a beta, right? Is Swype still listening...
These words cannot be removed or corrected due to the design limitation of Swype. I still prefer we just be able to customize our own Swype dictionary but in any case I feel these words do not belong...
For phone number entry I prefer to long press the 123 key to get a number-pad and that has the "-" as well.
I reported this bug several months ago and Swype doesn't seem to be in any hurry to fix it.
If you have another rooted device you can back up the Swype.apk and sideload it to your Kindle Fire and...
Has Swype made any headway into this issue in the past 3 months?
You may have luck moving the inputmethod.apk (Swype, not Swype Installer) from a permitted device to the tablet. That's how I got it to work on the Kindle Fire (which AFAIK - has no IMEI).
...
Installed Swype on my Kindle Fire (CM9) by a backdoor method moving the inputmethod.apk. It works great on the KF screen size! So, the bug is in the installer saying the screen size isn't supported -...
Seen on SGS2, latest public Swype beta as of now:
If I type a word as the first word of a sentence, of course it is automatically capitalized for that reason. But suppose it is not a proper name...
Is there a way to force Swype to install to check if it works properly in spite of the SwypeInstaller warning?
No love for Kindle Fire (on root/CM9 ICS), either. I'm dying with the awful stock keyboard.
I updated to 3.26.92D.38303 and it still has "Sooooo" in it.
OK - but I shouldn't have to do that. Swype should not include words in its dictionary that are not words, and making it non deleteable makes the problem worse. It's ridiculous and it needs to be...
I want to type "so" and I get "sooooo" and this is not a word, but it is a non-removable Swype dictionary word. What gives?
I don't have this problem with other keyboards, only Swype. Can't Swype be modified so that, when I'm just typing in typing mode and not Swyping, the keyboard works the same as other typing...
Bump - Rob Boehm has been answering other threads today but not this one
Just because this is a Beta, doesn't mean they care at all to listen to our feedback or take our advice on a major usability issue like this...
Current Swype is completely unusable in Firefox (9.0, Gecko/20111216). It adds unwanted spaces in typing mode and always uses the first autocorrect suggestions without the suggestion being tapped...
By the way: Auto-space after : is not a big deal.
But this is unacceptable:
Swype creates an auto-space. I hit backspace to delete the auto-space. Then I enter a capital P. Swype re-inserts the...
Splat
That's the sound of this major issue falling on Swype's deaf ears.
I get "chok" when I want "cook"
This is a major problem and Swype seems to be ignoring our reports of it.
