View Full Version : Add button or shortcut to dismiss the swype keyboard

Sometimes I want to close the swype keyboard to view obscured portions of the screen, but Swype doesn't always give me a way to dismiss it. The default keyboard (HTC Incredible) has a "down arrow" button that will always close the keyboard. I'd like to see the same in Swype. A shortcut gesture would be more than enough.

Sometimes the back button will dismiss the keyboard, but sometimes that also gets intepreted by the underlying application with undesireable results.

+1 yes i find this annoying too - you can get stuck with keyboard open and not sure what to do about it! :)

Hey guys I know this might not be related to what your talking about but I am new to poting in forums and I just wanted to show you the best
place on the internet to make residual cash. You will be amazed at how fast you can start getting signups. I'm averaging 5 a day and I just started.
Not to mention all the free sofware you get from your upline.Go and check it out Global Domains International (http://chedicorn.ws)
Thanks.

Hold down the menu key. It calls and dismisses any keyboard at any selected time, even when there is no text box.

The back key works too, but sometimes might actually send you to the previous screen. I trust the Menu button more, nothing sneaky can happen.
