View Full Version : A Phonetic Spell Checker for Swype?

Why can't Swype, and every spell checker I know of, be more phonetic?
Example: Swype entry - recev I'm trying to type receive -. Swype results =rev - reverb - rehab - tec - trev - exec .
Okay, so that's goofy.
I have the American Wordspeller app, it's a phonetic word speller, results - I type in recev. Results = receive. That's it, no long list, just that one word.
If over 400 million Americans are challenged with spelling (including over 45 million with dyslexia)
Swype, you ought to check it out! Add it to your database! Give ESL people a chance (like my Mexican friends)! Oh, and of course for dyslexics like me!

Think Swype will do it? Hmmmmmphhh...

I 100% support this. And this is coming from someone who's first and only language is English =P

Moving to the suggestion forum.
