I always used the edit panel that had the number board and the arrows with the copy, paste, and select buttons. I have the newest version of Swype from the Play Store. it seems like there's not as many symbols with the newer versions either unless I'm not seeing them all because keys have been moved around.

The edit panel was radically changed sometime back when Swype was taken over by nuance. Keys such as "home", "end", and "delete" (rather than "backspace") were removed and the text labels on the keys were replaced with symbols. I myself much preferred the old edit-layer.

Hello kcerica,

You are correct. The edit layer was simplified from previous versions, so there aren't as many options as there used to be.

Members of the community have requested that some of these functions be added back. You can read more and add to the discussion at: http://forum.swype.com/showthread.php?10074-Return-the-old-Numeric-and-Edit-keyboard-plox

Thanks!
