View Full Version : Droid X / Android 2.1 motoblur: Backspace faulty on Docs to Go and Quickoffice

09-04-2010, 8:10 AM
Motorola Droid X running Android 2.1 stock unrooted (motoblur variant).

OEM bundled Swype version unknown.

Backspace key will not work in the following programs, as detailed:

Quickoffice 3.2.40:
Backspace key works in standard editing mode, but will not move past left margin to previous line. Backspace key will not work at all on text selection blocks.

Documents to Go 2.0:
Backspace key will not work at all under any circumstances.

As the backspace key from the Droid X multi-touch keyboard works as expected in both software programs, and Swype's is faulty in both programs, I lean toward the bug being present in Swype.

Thanks for your time.

Hi MrMikeM513,

Thanks for the feedback. We think we've tracked this bug to our software not properly sending onKeyUp and onKeyDown events (thanks to the helpful Galcon app dev), which some apps are using for input detection. We're looking into this, and we'll let you know what comes of it. Thanks again!
