View Full Version : Getting mandarin Chinese support in Swype

Hey guys,

I found from various posts and comments about swype that one of its features is the ability to use different languages with swype. I have lived in China for some time I would love to swype in Mandarin Chinese, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to switch to anything but Spanish. I know they have at least other languages than just those two.

So, does anyone know how I would add languages to swipe?

Any help greatly appreciated, this would be super userfull for me. Thanks :),

Hi Percipient,

Swype PreLoaded is available in many different languages, at the discretion of our contracting partners. We already offer support for several languages, and are constantly developing more; it's one of our highest priorities in our daily work.

Swype BETA for Android currently suppots 3 languages: English, Spanish and Italian. We are looking into the possibility of releasing additional languages as well.

Neither version supports user-added languages (except what you manually enter into the user dictionary), but we're always reassessing how our interface and dictionary work, so who knows what you'll see in the future ;)
